March, so unpredictable,
So full of hope

Morning choristers serenade
The breaking dawn
Numbers swelling each day

Snowdrops bravely huddle
In the rockgarden
Awaiting the sun’s warming rays

Mornings brighten
As the sun edges north

Water gurgles along the roadside
Feeding swollen creeks
That run to the river

Meltwater puddles reflect fickle skies
Blue one moment
Gray the next

March is change
Change in temperature
Change in attitude

Approaching spring
Warms the heart
Anticipation rises
Like early shoots in the garden
